Silke Between her tapestry |
|
Multidisciplinary plastic artist of international renown. She was born in
Europe in the autumn of 1943, right in the middle of World War II. Lives in
Argentina since 1949. Her countless trips and studies all over the world
spurred her holistic attitude towards life.
This plastic artist focused her creativity in Textile Art. Her search for
an all-encompassing language led her to include music, stage design, words
and dancing, led to a fruitful intertwining of the arts. Silke follows her
path, creating new horizons, open to the mystery of life. |

Passively obedient, magnetic, it conveys electricity. It is transparent,
unstable and barely sustainable.
Damp, it reflects light and absorbs it. |
|
Restless, elastic,
compressible and expandable. Flexible and light, can adjust to every
shape. Transparent to light, impossible to capture and only recognizable
in action. |
|
Hard to delimit, it occupies spaces, extends, is
contagious and destroys. Obeys no rules.
Provides heat and warmth.
Transmits light and heat. |
|
Manifests itself as sand, powder or mud,
the soil of forests and cities, humus, peat, mildew, clay and quarry
earth.
Also pebbles, rocks and mountains. |
